Effective anti-aging – a wish of almost everyone
Most women and men want to maintain their youthful appearance for as long as possible - a wish that is understandable and human. Ultimately, it's not always about the unrealistic desire to still look like you're in your early twenties when you're older, but rather about maintaining radiant, well-nourished skin and beautiful, defined facial contours for a long time in order to radiate youthfulness and freshness to the outside world. which you often still feel inside just as much as ever. The image you see in the mirror corresponds to your inner feelings and self-image. Anti-aging means taking good care of yourself and avoiding avoidable early signs of aging or mitigating and delaying the development of wrinkles, increased pigment spots and other signs of aging processes. There are numerous options in cosmetics and aesthetic surgery - but what price do you want to pay? How much intervention do you want to allow and do you use cosmetics with chemical substances, possibly from manufacturers who are still involved in animal testing? You can also have anti-aging on a completely natural basis, without strong interventions or aggressive active ingredients, but with a really good feeling. You can find many great products here in the AYURSTAR range.
Ayurvedic tips for youthful skin
When formulating Ayurvedic creams, particular emphasis is placed on ensuring that the skin does not simply receive external supplies and becomes somewhat dependent on this external supply, but rather that it is encouraged to remain in balance itself. In addition, combinations of active ingredients are chosen that have a positive effect on all three layers of skin: on the epidermis, i.e. the outer layer, the dermis, i.e. the layer underneath, and even on the subcutaneous layer of skin. The active ingredients are dissolved in high-quality oils, using either an oil that is beneficial for all doshas, such as sesame or jojoba oil, or an oil tailored to a specific constitution. Many oils preferred in Ayurveda have a high natural content of vitamin E, the “skin vitamin” par excellence, which helps the skin retain more moisture and stimulates its enzyme activity.
Ayurvedic creams and their formulas
Ayurvedic creams for the skin include, among other things, sources of alpha hydroxy acid such as grape or - yes, actually - tomato extract. This type of acid can penetrate the skin particularly well and accelerates cell renewal. It can also have a beneficial influence on collagen in connective tissue. As a result, the skin appears fresher and smoother. In high doses, alpha hydroxy acid, which is also used against acne, can damage the skin, but in the form and concentration found in Ayurvedic creams it is well tolerated. Ayurveda also appreciates the diverse beneficial effects of aloe vera for the skin: with natural radiation protection, anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties, this plant is ideal for creams. Aloe vera has a healing effect on the skin because it stimulates the fibroblasts, important cells of the connective tissue that are responsible for collagen production, among other things. The stimulating effect on collagen production gives aloe vera high anti-wrinkle potential. Aloe gel is absorbed by the skin about four times as quickly as water, so the skin literally absorbs the substances that are so beneficial to it. The cleansing effect of the plant also helps to achieve a beautiful complexion when used internally (not recommended for pregnant women), e.g. by taking juice. In Ayurveda, tecomella (a tree growing in the Indian Thar Desert) and mimosa (Mimosa pudica) as well as Lodhra herb and amalaki are also considered cell-renewing and rejuvenating.
Like other creams, Ayurvedic creams contain, in addition to the ingredients that specifically prevent or reduce wrinkles, anti-inflammatory and cooling substances, such as red poppy seeds, sandalwood or licorice. Here too, the recipe can be adapted to the different constitution types.
Complementary tips: You can do this in addition to skin care
As you quickly notice, Ayurvedic creams are not so easy to make yourself and there is only a limited selection available in this country (some of which we of course offer here in the AYURDEVA range - see the beautiful product selection in this section!). But effects can be achieved using simple means and of course by following a few basic tips. The basic rule is: Always ensure sufficient moisture supply; especially if you spend a lot of time in air-conditioned rooms or are exposed to dry heating air. Since sun exposure accelerates skin aging immensely, it is important to properly protect yourself from UV rays, not only from a health perspective, but also with a view to keeping the skin looking young. It's similar with smoking: since nicotine triggers oxidative stress, it is not only a health hazard but also an aging-accelerating factor. And last but not least: It's not a fairy tale that constantly frowning causes or increases forehead wrinkles. In our opinion, laugh lines, on the other hand, are most likely called that because they are alleviated by lots of laughter.
The following should be mentioned for the sake of completeness: before you apply the caring, nourishing active ingredients, a gentle but thorough cleaning is required. This is the only way the skin is really well prepared to absorb the care substances and benefit from them.
serums for anti-aging
Serums are the super-effective little specialists in anti-aging cosmetics that have a particularly high concentration of active ingredients. Unlike a cream, which always has a protective function and usually contains a large proportion of oils or glycerin, serums usually have a lighter consistency, can be absorbed faster and deeper into the skin and contain a higher proportion of active ingredients such as special ones plant extracts. They are not to be seen as an alternative to cream (since the aforementioned protective function of the cream is also important for most people), but are recommended as a complementary booster for particularly good anti-aging effects.
anti-aging creams
Creams that are specifically designated for anti-aging not only provide moisture but also intensely nourish the skin and contain building and regenerating oils and active ingredients. Especially at night, one can use rich creams that provide the skin with everything it needs during its main regeneration phase to restore itself well. During the day, reliable protection against moisture loss and environmental influences (against oxidative stress) is particularly important.
masks for anti-aging
If you want to add a special extra to your anti-aging program, you can apply a mask once or twice a week and let it take effect. In the AYURDEVA range you will find, for example, an anti-aging mask from pure Elements with lots of hyaluronic acid.
