Hair care starts with the right shampoo

Beautiful, well-groomed hair is attractive - women see it as an attribute of femininity, and men are often very vain when it comes to hair. Many spend long hours in front of the mirror every day putting the finishing touches to their hairstyle with curling irons and hairspray, styling cream, gel and many other products so that they can say: "Your hair is beautiful". But above all, shampoo is the basic ingredient for regular cleaning and care. It would be a shame to just grab the next product off the shelf. In addition to quality (we think natural cosmetics are best, but definitely cruelty-free), it is also important to pay attention to specialization, because shampoos are usually tailored to specific hair types or problems:

Oily hair

Greasy hair quickly looks unkempt and leads to frequent hair washing, so it is not particularly easy to care for. A suitable shampoo that is specially tailored to the needs of greasy hair (or oily scalp) is recommended. Shampoos for greasy hair usually contain stronger surfactants and therefore clean more thoroughly than other shampoos. The proportion of surfactants is also usually higher here than in other products, while the proportion of care ingredients is correspondingly lower. However, this is not always ideal, because while the roots quickly become greasy, the tips are often very dry, which is why a shampoo for greasy hair should not dry out the hair even more, but should even moisturize it if possible. The shampoo should therefore have a good mixture of effective surfactants and additional care ingredients. Whether sebum production can be regulated by a shampoo is controversial. Nevertheless, experience shows that noticeable effects can be achieved with good special shampoos. A tip for anyone whose hair gets greasy quickly is the Bioturm shampoo especially for greasy hair, which can be found in the AYURDEVA range. It contains zinc salt, which prevents the scalp from getting greasy quickly. Birch and lemon extract also refresh the hair from the roots. The balancing shampoo Keshawa Balance Shampoo, with extracts from sage and nettle, also helps with problems with greasy hair. The ginger shampoo from Cosmoveda, which contains kaolin to balance the scalp, has also been specially developed for greasy hair.

Brittle, damaged and dry hair?

Repair shampoos are designed to rebuild the hair structure and compensate for damage that has already occurred. Colored and bleached hair often needs them, but so does hair that has visibly suffered from the heat of a hairdryer, UV radiation or other influences. The recipes used to bring about regeneration are very different and based on different approaches. One example: the repair shampoo from Bioturm, which AYURDEVA has in its range, strengthens the hair structure with organic linden blossom and organic oat extract. Another example is the vital shampoo from Keshawa, which works with an Ayurvedic rebuilding recipe. If you want to prevent split ends, you can use the Wild Cactus Anti Breakage Hair Shampoo from Vatika, for example. If you suffer from dry hair in particular, you should try the nourishing Sweet Almond Shampoo from Vatika, for example.

Fine hair / little volume

?Fine hair is very common in Central Europe - on a typical bad hair day, the hairstyle simply falls apart and the hair hangs flat or flies around "fuzzy". Glamorous is not possible! But even here, a shampoo can certainly help, because special volume shampoos strengthen the hair without weighing it down (and thus making it even flatter). The mild rose shampoo from Cosmoveda is ideal for thin, lifeless hair, for example, with its very nourishing formula, which contains rose water and strengthening rice protein. The jasmine shampoo from the same manufacturer is also very nourishing and strengthens the structure thanks to rice protein. Both shampoos also have a wonderful scent.

Flaky or sensitive scalp

An itchy, flaky scalp can drive those affected to despair. There are many possible triggers, ranging from taking certain medications to drying out the scalp due to washing too often with harsh shampoos to allergies. Of course, it makes the most sense to find the cause and address it directly. In the meantime, however, a good shampoo can also help.
We recommend the very mild sandalwood shampoo from Cosmoveda. The Vatika shampoos are also designed to be particularly beneficial for sensitive scalps. The AYURDEVA range includes a very good shampoo from Bioturm to combat dandruff.

More tips

  • There are also special shine shampoos. If the scalp is balanced and the hair is healthy, you generally no longer have a problem with dull, lackluster hair.
  • If several problems occur at the same time, you can use shampoos to counteract the rapid re-greasing and occasionally use hair masks to combat dryness or split ends. Experience has shown that changing shampoo occasionally or using several products alternately at certain intervals also produces positive results. While changing too often can irritate a sensitive scalp, a new stimulus at the right intervals is good.

The extra care: Ayurvedic hair oils, hair conditioners and hair treatments

Brittle, dry and fragile hair is a common problem that many women and men face. Heat from blow-dryers, coloring, frequent washing, swimming pool visits (swimming in chlorinated water) and other factors can damage the structure of the hair. The hair then quickly looks straw-like and unkempt, is difficult to style and is a long way from the healthy, vital-looking, shiny and beautifully falling hair that everyone dreams of. But what can you do to protect your hair from damage? How do you make unruly hair supple again and what can you do, apart from using a good shampoo, to get more beautiful, healthier hair again? In Ayurveda, oils play a major role in body care, and that applies not only to the skin but also to the hair. Hair oils are recommended as an extra care product, which of course can also be found here in the AYURDEVA range. The high-quality hair oils from Dabur, Apeiron, Vatika and Santulan are specially tailored to the needs of damaged hair. AYURDEVA also offers hair conditioners and hair treatments. The conditioners make the hair supple and give it new shine, while the hair treatments rebuild and regenerate.
