Licorice - healthy in moderation
If you have high blood pressure, you should avoid excessive consumption of licorice. Liquorice can contain up to 14% glycyrrhizin. According to EU recommendations, the daily dose of glycyrrhizin must not exceed 100 mg per day. This corresponds to an amount of 700 mg of licorice (approximately one level teaspoon of licorice powder).
