The toothpaste contains no sodium saccharin, no fluoride, is 100% vegan and contains no microplastics.
Herbdent's Ayurvedic toothpaste with xylitol consists of various plant extracts and herbs that have always been used in natural dental care according to Ayurvedic tradition due to their soothing and alleviating properties. Extracts from liquorice, amla and clove prevent inflammation, bleeding gums and bacteria that cause tooth decay, soothe and strengthen sensitive gums and gently care for the entire oral cavity.
The xylitol used in the toothpaste is a natural substance extracted from birch trees. Xylitol has antimicrobial properties, maintains the acid-base balance in the mouth and thus inhibits the growth of bacteria. Gum problems are mainly caused by bacteria that are based on acidic saliva, which is encouraged by sweets, among other things.
Bacteria also contribute to the formation of plaque, the adhesive film made of saliva and food residue. This plaque in turn promotes the growth of bacteria and can therefore encourage gum irritation. Untreated plaque can harden at the gum line and develop into tartar.
Xylitol also stimulates saliva flow, thereby promoting the production of beneficial minerals found in saliva. Increased saliva production is especially important for people who suffer from dry mouth due to drug side effects, age or illness.
We recommend using the toothpaste in the evening to clean your teeth thoroughly. It is the ideal addition to the tooth gel with xylitol, which cleans even more gently without calcium and is ideal for the morning or in between meals.
