Discover the whole world of tea

Tea is like a world of its own; you could almost say that tea is a small universe of its own. Tea opens up a huge variety of aromas from the plant kingdom that make connoisseurs' hearts beat faster and at the same time have a lot to offer for their health. Teas are a natural part of Ayurveda - tea is actually very closely linked to Asia and has played an important role there for a very long time. If you look into the history of tea, the thread leads back to ancient China, almost 3000 years before the birth of Christ. Also interesting is the mythology that revolves around the tea plant (Camellia sinensis), which traces its origins back to Bodhidharma, who spread Buddhism in China. While the latter is a legend, there are also many exciting facts about tea, including the tea bush from which green tea is made, and of course black tea as a fermented variant. There is a lot to say about both green tea and black tea, as there is a wide variety of varieties and the subtle nuances of enjoyment that green tea and black tea offer are correspondingly diverse. In Ayurveda, however, it is herbal teas and spiced teas that are traditional. Depending on the combination of herbs, a tea can be used, for example, to balance the doshas, i.e. to soothe dominant doshas, but can also be used to stimulate the digestive fire, among other things. Many teas from the AYURDEVA range skilfully make use of the knowledge of these effects of herbs and spices and have sophisticated Ayurvedic recipes. In addition to these Ayurvedic-oriented teas, the AYURDEVA range also includes other high-quality tea compositions that are also highly recommended with selected organic ingredients and fine compositions.

Ayurvedic herbal teas and Yogi teas

Ayurvedic herbal teas and Yogi teas are of course a focus of the AYURDEVA range. They can be enjoyed all year round, not just in the cold season, which some consider to be the typical tea time. Ayurvedic teas are specifically designed to increase well-being. Medicinal herbal teas are also known in the European tradition - think, for example, of the classic chamomile tea for stomach problems, sage tea for a sore throat or caraway tea for flatulence. In Ayurveda, however, numerous typically Indian plants are used and the teas are based on Ayurvedic knowledge and principles, so they are composed in such a way that they are particularly beneficial for certain dosha types. Ayurvedic teas are therefore a wonderful addition and extension to any tea cupboard.

Whether Maharishi or Shoti Maa, whether Cosmoveda, Yogi Tea or Hari Tea – the Indian teas from the AYURDEVA range impress with finely tuned recipes that are delicious, wholesome and beneficial.

More teas at AYURDEVA

In addition to the relevant yogic and Ayurvedic teas, AYURDEVA also offers other excellent teas that fit well with the philosophy behind our range. These include the excellent teas from Pukka Herbs. Pukka Tea has a wide range of recipes in its range. They are not always the typical Ayurvedic teas that you may already know, but the spirit and knowledge of Ayurveda are always included. Pukka Tea offers teas with a relaxing effect, teas with a detox effect and many other beneficial compositions. Organic ingredients play a very important role in Pukka Tea.
The extraordinary blooming teas are also a magical addition to the range: Creano blooming teas unfold their full beauty in the teapot and combine full-bodied tea enjoyment with a visual experience that makes them unique. Creano blooming teas are a wonderful idea for pampering guests and enchant both in terms of taste and appearance. The teas from the Numi label are another addition to the range. Selected organic teas such as antioxidant-rich Rooibos tea from South Africa or black and green tea in connoisseur quality make Numi tea a feast for the senses. Whether Gunpowder or Mate, whether Golden Chai or Earl Grey, Numi tea offers top teas from organic cultivation.

Tea and culinary aspects

Tea can almost be a small ritual for a moment of calm and relaxation in the middle of a turbulent day. It also enhances Sunday leisure hours on the couch, can be drunk in the evening to relax or can be the highlight of the classic tea time in the afternoon. In addition, tea - something that many people are perhaps less aware of - can also be a wonderful drink to accompany meals. In an article on the blog of the magazine YOGA AKTUELL, the author Doris Iding, who is not only known as a journalist on Ayurveda topics but is also an absolute tea connoisseur and lover, writes the following about this topic: "Spice teas are particularly popular on cold winter days because they give the body a feeling of pleasant warmth with ginger, cinnamon, cloves, fennel and anise. They have an intense taste and stimulate the juices, making them a delicious end to a sumptuous meal. But that's not all: depending on the flavor, they are also an ideal addition to a feast." It then goes on to say: "Tea with a dominant ginger flavour goes perfectly with sweet and spicy desserts, such as gingerbread parfait or cinnamon mousse. Teas mixed with ginger, lemon or vanilla are an ideal addition to light fish specialties, Thai cuisine or Moroccan stews. Their fruity flavour gives the recipes a special touch. Teas with ginger, cardamom, fennel and cloves are suitable for many occasions. For example, with hearty dishes, but also with cakes and hearty desserts. Chai teas are also particularly recommended as a mild digestif."

The well-known author also gives culinary tips on fruit teas, mint teas and herbal tips. For example, she writes: "Nettle, sage, dandelion, hemp or alkaline teas are a good alternative to green tea for Japanese maki or sushi. Vegetable dishes seasoned with garlic or wild garlic also benefit from the bitter taste of these herbal teas. In spring, nettle and dandelion leaf teas are a great accompaniment to fresh asparagus."

Here you can clearly see that teas are also suitable as an accompaniment to a variety of dishes. From an Ayurvedic perspective, they are also more advisable than cold drinks, which can impair the digestive fire, especially if drunk in large quantities with food.
Whether enjoyed neat or as an accompaniment to a delicious meal – we wish you varied and beneficial tea enjoyment with the excellent teas from the AYURDEVA range!
